1. Who we are
These Terms of Service are between you and Bauter Miceli LLC ("us", "we", or "our"), the operator of Rigamarole, an online collaborative storytelling game. By using Rigamarole, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. The service
Rigamarole lets you create or join rooms where multiple people take turns writing a shared story. Each writer sees only the last 80 characters of the previous contribution while writing. When the game ends, the full story is revealed to everyone in the room. Some features (longer games, private rooms, turn timers, theme prompts, and larger rooms) require a paid Pro subscription.
3. Accounts
You may use Rigamarole as a guest or with a registered account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 13 years old, or older if required by your local laws. If you are using Rigamarole on behalf of an organization, you must have authority to bind that organization.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Rigamarole for anything unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful. This includes, but is not limited to: harassing or threatening others, spamming, distributing malware, interfering with the service's security or performance, scraping, reverse engineering, circumventing usage limits, infringing anyone's intellectual property, or posting illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent content.
We may remove content, suspend accounts, or block access for violations of these rules or for behavior that creates risk for other users or the service.
5. Intellectual property
Rigamarole, its code, designs, trademarks, and other materials are owned by Bauter Miceli LLC and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for its intended purpose while you follow these terms. You may not resell, redistribute, or reverse engineer the service.
You keep ownership of the original text you write in Rigamarole. By submitting content, you give us a limited license to host, display, and process that content solely so we can run the game and provide features like publishing, sharing, and emailing stories. If you believe content in Rigamarole infringes your rights, contact us and we will review and remove it as appropriate.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Rigamarole Pro is a subscription service billed monthly. Prices are shown before you check out. Payments, billing, taxes, subscription management, cancellations, and refunds are handled by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Paddle. The terms governing those transactions are Paddle's Buyer Terms, available at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
7. Refunds
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you can request a full refund within 30 days of your order date. Refunds are processed by Paddle. To request a refund, visit paddle.net or contact our support team. See our Refund Policy for full details.
8. Service level and warranties
We try to keep Rigamarole running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Maintenance, updates, and unexpected issues may cause downtime. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bauter Miceli LLC will not be liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, punitive, or special damages, including lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability. This does not apply where liability cannot be limited by law, such as fraud, death, or personal injury.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bauter Miceli LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms.
11. Termination and suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay when due, pose a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly violate our policies. You may stop using the service at any time. When access ends, your right to use the service stops immediately, but content you have already published or shared may remain visible according to the publishing settings you chose.
12. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new terms on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Rigamarole after changes means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the service will be resolved in the courts located in the jurisdiction where Bauter Miceli LLC is organized.
